My Story

“And then there is the most dangerous risk of all—

The risk of spending your life

not doing what you want

on the bet that you can buy yourself

the freedom to do it later.”

-Randy Komisar

I grew up watching my mom always have a camera in her hand. Whether it was to photograph our shenanigans around the house, sporting events, or the annual Halloween costumes, she photographed it all. I learned to truly appreciate the importance of capturing moments through a camera lens. I used to play around with my mom’s camera until she bought my first one while I was in high school. It was a Nikon D40 and it was basically attached to my hip. When I wasn’t playing sports or working at a local restaurant, chances are I was off somewhere in the woods taking pictures. I often used my brothers or best friends as models for my photos and had fun learning the intricacies of my camera.

Over the years, toying around in the woods turned into photographing five weddings, family portraits, and several engagement sessions. Each experience taught me more about the art and helped me find a style that I best liked.

Fast forward to today, I hardly leave the house without my Sony camera. My poor husband and dog are now subjected to being my models and I finally feel like I’ve developed my own style of photography. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats. I was an elementary school teacher for seven years and soon I’ll be an occupational therapist. One thing that’s always stayed consistent however, is my love for photography and traveling around our beautiful planet. I hope you enjoy seeing the world through my lens.
